Fly fishing

(BEn i need a cape vantage words) A part of the SeaVee fleet, this boat takes the waves head-on and packs a mighty punch. Its performance, versatility, and simplicity make it the most capable boat in its class."

The season begins in Peconic Bay, my favorite fishery, with hundreds of miles of shoreline, crystal-clear water, and a thriving population of striped bass and bluefish. Targeting large fish in just a few feet of water makes this one of the premier fishing experiences on the North Fork. As water temperatures rise in the Peconic Bay Estuary, the fish transition to cooler summer grounds, and our focus shifts to the South Shore Bays and East Hampton. These areas offer a diverse fishery featuring rips, rocky structure, and expansive sandy flats. This is my favorite time of year—there’s nothing better than sight-fishing for striped bass and bluefish.

SEASONAL FISHING ON PECONIC BAY
MAY - JULY
JULY - SEPTEMBER
One of the greatest advantages of fishing the East End is its close proximity to cold ocean water throughout the summer, which makes fishing great year-round. As temperatures rise, striped bass and bluefish migrate east, following the cooler currents. During this time of year, we primarily use the SeaVee to run into Block Island Sound and beyond. This fishery consistently produces trophy-sized fish on light tackle and fly, making it one of the best opportunities of the season to land a true fish of a lifetime.
MAY - NOVEMBER
Bottom fishing trips are great for all skill levels, especially beginners and kids! This style of fishing is known for its fun, action-packed days. We catch a variety of species, including porgies, blowfish, weakfish, kingfish, and blackfish. The boat launches out of New Suffolk or Greenport, but we can pick up clients from Southampton, Shelter Island, Sag Harbor, and beyond.

Ben Savercool proudly holds this distinction.
Fish The Fork is built on local knowledge, timing, and experience across every season. Spring and summer are shallow-water sight-fishing on the flats. Fall is the migration—striped bass, bluefish, and false albacore feed hard on the surface.
